Syrian Army Forces Repel Militants to Withdraw from Idlib’s Strategic Region

“The militants have been withdrawing from this region (Jabal Al-Arbaeen) to escape the heavy artillery attacks of the Syrian army,” an informed Syrian security source told FNA this morning.

The source underlined that the armed rebel groups stationed in Jabalal-Arbaeen cannot conduct any military operation against the Syrian army without the outside support of the militants of other areas and they have been completely paralyzed.

He noted that the militants are preparing for ambush in an area near Kafr Late town.

On Wednesday, units of the Syrian armed forces clashed with militants in a number of areas in Idlib countryside, killing scores of militants and destroying their hideouts and gatherings.

A military source said that the army clashed with militants in the areas of Kifr Najd, Harsh Masibin, Hamimat al-Dayer, Taftanaz, Binnesh, Maarazaf and Benin in Idlib countryside.

The source added that the army also destroyed machinegun-equipped vehicles in the areas of Taftanaz, Binnesh, Sarja and Tarmla, killing a number of terrorists, including Farhan Othman from Saudi Arabia, Mousa Naddaf Tabash from Morocco and Mohammad al-Obeidi from Kuwait, in addition to terrorists Adnan Mohammad Rankous and Mohammad Ali Zahlawi.

The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.

Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
