The Syrian army and its allies started a new phase of military operations to recapture the remaining districts in the Eastern part of Aleppo city.

The Syrian army is now preparing to seize back the Middle and Southern districts of Eastern Aleppo city after its recent wins that ended up in the capture of the Northern part.

“The army units advanced in the Northern flank of Aleppo city’s Eastern districts easily and they are now moving towards the mid and Southern parts,” the Arabic-language media outlets quoted an unnamed military source as saying on Tuesday.

The Syrian army troops alongside the Palestinian Liwaa Al-Quds launched their first attack Northwest of Jabal Badrou on the Ma’asaraniyah Youth Housing Complex near the Ard Al-Hamra district.

The government army troops have reached the gates of al-Halwanieh region after advancing towards the Southern part of Jabal Badrou.

Pro-government forces also engaged in bloody clashes with the militants at Sheikh Lufti district in the Southeastern part of the city, recapturing nearly a dozen buildings in the area.

Battlefield sources also reiterated that the Syrian army’s military operations will concentrate on al-Sheikh Saeed “as this region is the Southern gate to the Aleppo city’s Eastern districts”.

The sources went on to say that recapturing al-Sheikh Saeed will result in new military developments in the Eastern part of the city the most important of which will be preparing the ground for starting new military operations to take control of Aleppo castle and end the decisive battle of Aleppo.

The terrorists’ defense lines in the Eastern parts of Aleppo city are falling in a domino fashion and the Syrian army is chasing the terrorists who are fleeing the region.

The Syrian army continued its rapid advances in Aleppo province, and managed to take full control of the Northern flank of the Aleppo city’s Eastern districts.

District after district have fallen into the hands of the Syrian army soldiers and their allies, forcing the terrorist groups to rapidly retreat to the South in order to avoid being overrun and outflanked by the pressing forces in Eastern Aleppo as the pro-government troops have already established full control over important blocks and districts in the Eastern part of the city, specially its Northern part.

The Syrian army and its allies seized full control of al-Sheikh Khezr, Bustan al-Pasha, Baeedin, Soleiman al-Halabi, al-Hallak, al-Anzarat, Sheikh Fares, Ayn al-Tal, and al-Sakhor after they recaptured housing complexes in Hanano, Jabal Badrou, Arz al-Hamra and also driving a wedge along the Northern section of the Eastern districts of Aleppo city.

The Syrian army imposed full control over Baeedin district after capturing al-Davvar district, and is now in control of nearly half of Eastern Aleppo.

The army units have taken back 20 square kilometers of the total 45 square kilometers of Eastern Aleppo after recapturing 12 regions.

Scores of terrorists were killed and wounded in tough battle with the Syrian army soldiers.

According to reports, more than 3,000 buildings have been also cleared of Al-Nusra Front (has changed name to Fatah al-Sham Front while hundreds of militants laid down their arms and left Eastern Aleppo through the special corridor.

Thousands of civilians, including hundreds of children and newborn babies, have also left the Eastern part of the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo in recent days.

All civilians are being cared for in aid camps where they receive medical treatment, food and sanitation.

According to the Russian Center for Reconciliation, more than 80,000 people live in the newly liberated areas of the Eastern part of the city while more than 5,000 people fled from the Southern districts of Eastern Aleppo, which are still controlled by the militants, to the areas held by government forces.

Currently, the Syrian Army is continuing their large-scale offensive in Eastern Aleppo, targeting Al-Nusra Front and other militant groups still controlling the area.

With recapturing the Northern part of Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo, Syrian army forces can now turn their attention to the last half of the East Aleppo pocket; this will arguably the most difficult battle they face inside the provincial capital.

Over the recent months, Aleppo has been a battlefield between government forces and numerous terrorist groups.

Syria has been mired in bloody war since March 2011, with Damascus forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad fighting tens of terrorist groups.
