Syrian Army Launches Massive Operations in Eastern Damascus, Smashes Several Al-Nusra Bases

The Syrian ground and air force units continued military operations against the al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) in the Eastern parts of Damascus, destroying several terrorist bases in al-Qaboun district.

The army units targeted the al-Nusra’s position in al-Qaboun with missile and artillery fire.

The Syrian fighter jets, meantime, launched repeated attacks against the terrorists in the Eastern and Southern parts of al-Qaboun, blowing up several positions and killing a number of militants.

The Syrian air force also attacked the terrorists’ supply routes in regions between Jobar district and the town of Ain Tarma in Eastern Ghouta.

The air force also heavily pounded the al-Nusra’s hideouts and moves in Arabayan city, the Northern farms of Harasta, the Northern Parts of Douma and the gardens between Douma and Harasta.

Relevant reports from Eastern Ghouta said on Monday that a field commander of Jeish al-Islam terrorist group was killed in the Syrian Army troops’ operations in al-Qaboun.

The army soldiers, backed up by the country’s fighter jets, continued their anti-terrorism operation near al-Qaboun and in a region between al-Qaboun and Western Harasta, and killed Commander of Brigade 17th of Jeish al-Islam terrorist group, nom de guerre Abu Amar al-Qeis.

A local source said that the army’s artillery and aircraft launched heavy attacks on terrorists’ positions in al-Qaboun simultaneous with the advances of the ground troops.

Relevant reports said on Sunday that the army troops fended off another large-scale offensive of Al-Nusra Front in Eastern Ghouta, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.

The army men warded off the Al-Nusra attack on several positions of the government forces in al-Qaboun, Tishrin and Jobar districts East and North-East of Damascus province.
