The Syrian Army has driven back the militant groups from several building blocks in one of the main neighborhoods of Darayya in Western Ghuota after hours of fierce clashes with the terrorists and killing large numbers of them, army said Monday.

“Several building blocks near al-Reza mosque in the Northeastern side of the cultural center in al-Pasha neighborhood in Darayya have been captured by the Syrian army,” the army said.

“The Syrian army’s artillery also shelled the militant groups’ positions near Darayya to slow down their movement in Western Ghouta,” the army went on to say.

“In the meantime, the Syrian fighter jets pounded the militant groups’ concentration centers near Douma in Eastern Ghouta, which left tens of the terrorists dead or wounded,” the army added.

Militant groups’ positions in different parts of Damascus province have been under the massive attacks of the Syrian army, air force, and artillery units in the recent weeks.

On Sunday, two senior commanders of the terrorist groups were killed in the Syrian government forces’ offensives in Eastern Ghouta.

Joint offensives of the Syrian army troops and the National Defense Forces (NDF) in Douma Farms claimed the lives of many terrorists, including Bilal al-Khanshour, the leader of al-Maghaweer brigade affiliated to Jeish al-Islam and Abu Hassan Hamou, a senior commander of the Takfiri terrorist groups.

In the meantime, the Syrian forces’ strikes on the positions of Jeish al-Islam in the Eastern part of CARS company and near Rahmeh gas station in Harasta, left scores of the militants dead and destroyed their military hardware.
