Syrian Army Preparing for Large-Scale Anti-Terrorism Operation in Northern Hama

The Syrian Army troops and their popular allies are getting ready to carry out a massive operation to take back the lands lost to the terrorists in Northern Hama, well-informed sources said Sunday.

The sources said that the army has shifted its attention from the Qamhana front in Northern Hama to the key town of Souran, which was captured by the terrorists during the first 48 hours of their offensive.

They added that unlike their previous offensive in Northern Hama last year, the Syrian Army will also attempt to recover the large town of Taybat al-Imam, which is located just South of Souran.

This military operation will be led by the Tiger Forces, with additional back-up from the local National Defense Forces (NDF), 11th Tank Division, and other Syrian Army allies, the sources went on to say.

The Syrian Army’s missile and artillery units are now shelling the militants’ defense lines at Souran and Taybat al-Imam and are about to launch their ground assault on the terrorists.

Also, the Syrian warplanes targeted the positions of the terrorists in the town of Morek and regions near Ma’ardes and Halfaya villages in Northern Hama on Saturday, killing or wounding a number of militants.

In the meantime, the army units seized Baiju hill and the Al-Gharbal region North of the town of Maharadeh after intense battle with the Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board).

Military sources said that a unit of the Syrian army also shot down a reconnaissance drone of the militants in al-Mashari area in al-Ghabb region.
