The Syrian army continued military operations in Southern Idlib and further advanced in regions near Khan Sheikhoun, retaking control of a part of Aleppo-Damascus highway and tightening noose on Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in the town.

The Syrian army units kept on clashes with Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) militants in Northern and Northwestern Khan Sheikhoun on Tuesday, taking back control of the strategic Tal Kafardoun, Tal al-Syria Tel, al-Nimr checkpoint and Horsh al-Khan regions near Aleppo-Damascus highway.

Meantime, a military source underlined the Syrian army’s full control over a part of Aleppo-Damascus highway in Northern Khan Sheikhoun, adding that the town has been surrounded by the army after the recent advances from the South, West and North.

He also said that during the recent clashes between the militants and the Syrian army as well as the Russian-Syrian airstrikes against their positions and moves, at least 67 terrorists were killed and tens of others were wounded.

Meantime, the Syrian army destroyed several operations rooms and logistical routes and communication centers of Tahrir al-Sham in Horsh Khan Sheikhoun and Syria Tel in the Northwestern parts of Khan Sheikhoun.

On Monday, the Syrian Army managed to enter Khan Sheikhoun after five years.

The Damascus Army troops kept on their clashes with the terrorists in Northwestern Khan Sheikhoun in Southern Idlib, and took control of al-Faqir military post and deployed only 900 meters from Aleppo-Damascus Highway around Khan Sheikhoun.

The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper quoted battlefield sources as saying that the Syrian Army troops entered Khan Sheikhoun from the North-West after making further advances.

It pointed to the destruction of several bomb-laden vehicles in the region, and said that tens of terrorists started fleeing the scene of the battle as the Syrian Army made its advances.

Meantime, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) pointed to the arrival of the Syrian Army in Khan Sheikhoun city after five years since the occupation of the city by terrorists, and said that at least 45 terrorists were killed in the Syrian Army’s military operation in Khan Sheikhoun.
