‘Aggressors to pay for Syria attack’

As the war rhetoric against Syria intensifies, the Syrian ambassador to Tehran says aggressors will pay a heavy price if they attack the Arab country.

According to Press TV, Adnan Hassan Mahmoud said Sunday “In defense of its nation, Syria will decisively respond to any act of aggression by the US and aggressors will pay a heavy price for their assault [on the country.”
Mahmoud once again dismissed the accusations of chemical weapons use, saying such groundless claims are a pretext to justify military action against Syria following the strategic success gained by the Syrian army over extremist groups.
He also described a strike against Syria as a war on the entire anti-Zionist resistance front in the Middle East, stressing that the Syrian nation has a strong will and morale to resist against aggression.
The Syrian envoy said anti-war demonstrations were held in several countries across the world over the past few days, suggesting that Syria will not stand alone in dealing with a Western assault.
