Syrian army thwarts an offensive by the US-supported Forces in Deir Ezzor

According to reports, U.S. forces have directed militants affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to initiate an offensive against Syrian Army positions across seven villages located in the Deir Ezzor countryside.

On Tuesday, hostilities commenced by militants associated with the Deir Ezzor Military Council, a faction linked to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), targeting seven tranquil villages in Deir Ezzor. These confrontations have now concluded, with militants retreating to their initial positions in northern Deir Ezzor, as reported by Al Mayadeen’s correspondent.

The Deir Ezzor Military Council comprises armed factions backed by US forces, functioning within the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). This council maintains control over territories situated north of the Euphrates River, which host multiple US military installations.

According to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent, the SDF forces have fully retreated following an unsuccessful effort to advance on seven peaceful villages in northern Deir Ezzor. This withdrawal occurred despite heavy artillery support from American troops stationed at the Conoco field.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that US occupation forces directed the Deir Ezzor Military Council militants to initiate an assault on Syrian Army positions across seven villages in the Deir Ezzor countryside. This development coincides with an offensive by the terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and other opposition factions targeting the countrysides of Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama.

Seven villages situated on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, are currently under the control of the Syrian Army. These villages include al-Hussainiya, al-Salihiya, Hatla, Marrat, Mazloum, Khasham, and al-Tabiya.

Our correspondent reports that members of the Deir Ezzor Military Council have deployed mine-clearance vehicles to the Khasham front in northern Deir Ezzor and commenced the process of dismantling earthen barriers.

Fierce confrontations were reported between forces of the Deir Ezzor Military Council and the Syrian Army near the towns of al-Salihiya, Marrat, and al-Tabiya in northern Deir Ezzor. US-backed militants reportedly targeted the village of Khasham in the Deir Ezzor countryside, launching a barrage of 12 mortar shells.

Intense confrontations have erupted between militant groups and the Syrian Army on the al-Salihiya front in northern Deir Ezzor, according to reports.

According to a report by Sputnik, Syrian Army units have detained 14 individuals associated with the Deir Ezzor Military Council, which is linked to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in a recent assault on the northeastern region of Deir Ezzor.

In addition, SANA has reported intense confrontations between the Syrian army and armed groups in the areas north and west of Khattab, located in the northwestern reaches of Hama’s countryside. According to the report, dozens of militants have been killed or injured around Deir Ezzor and in the northern countryside of Hama.
