Syrian Consultaing Center for Studies and Human Rights: Western Countries Are Breaching UN Principles and Charter

The Syrian Consulting Center for Studies and Human Rights said holding the Syrian government responsible for non-abidance by the UN envoy Kofi Annan’s plan by the U.S. , French and German representatives to the UN implies flagrant contradiction with the Security Council Resolution adopted Saturday on deploying 300 observers in Syria which called on all parties to commit and clear the way before the observers.

The Center added in a statement on Sunday, which SANA got a copy of, that “while taking positions in favor of the armed terrorist groups and trying to provide a cover for these groups to continue their attacks against the Syrian government, the Western countries are acting contrary to the UN principles and in violation of its Charter not caring for the human rights violations perpetrated by these groups.”

The Center said several regional and international powers are inciting violence in Syria to push the Syrians to internal fighting in preparation for imposing imperialist agendas that are being passed under deceptive slogans of ‘safe or humanitarian corridors’.

“It is the duty of these countries, should they care for human rights, to halt all forms of support to the armed terrorist groups, including media fabrication and instigation, and to call for handing over the arms directed against the civilians and the military and upon the opposition to engage into the dialogue and the political process in Syria,” the statement concluded.
