Syrian PM Underlines Importance of Political Program to Solve Crisis

Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi, underlined the importance of the political program to solve the crisis in Syria which was launched by President Bashar al-Assad to overcome the current situation and restore security and stability to Syria.

During his meeting on Thursday with Secretary-General of Arab Democratic Solidarity Party, Maher Karam, and members of the Party’s Secretariat office, al-Halqi said that the government has approved executive techniques of the political program and will organize, starting from next week, consultative meetings on that with the parties and social, economic and civil powers to lay the groundwork for the national dialogue conference to solve the crisis.

He stressed the role of national parties in enriching the political life and democratic practice, communicating with citizens, backing the reform process and helping in protecting vital and economic institutions and service facilities.

For his part, Karam reviewed the party’s activities and political and public participation, as well as aspects of the service needs and the citizens’ basic needs, voicing the party’s support for the political program for solving the crisis and the national solution and reconciliation.
