Tiger Forces advance to the village of Ayn Al-Jahesh in east Aleppo
The Syrian Arab Army’s elite special operations division known as the “Tiger Forces” have recently advanced several kilometers north of the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway after a series of battles with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) near the Kuweires Military Airport in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside.
On Tuesday morning, the Tiger Forces – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions) – pushed north from the recently captured village of ‘Ayishah towards the small town of ‘Ayn Al-Jahesh (translates to the “eye of the donkey”), which sits directly south of ISIS’ main stronghold of Al-Bab.
Should the Tiger Forces and their allies seize ‘Ayn Al-Jahesh from the ISIS terrorists, they will be within striking distance of Al-Bab; this would spell trouble for ISIS, as they will have two different strongholds in danger of being attacked by the pro-government forces.
Making matters worse for ISIS in east Aleppo, the U.S. backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” are now attacking the ISIS stronghold of Menbeij, leaving the terrorist group in a difficult predicament that will ultimately end in disaster.
