The Syrian army and air force destroyed the military positions of the terrorist groups in Homs province.

“The Syrian air force pounded the gathering centers of the ISIL (ISIS / Daesh) in Khanifis, al-Tanaf and in regions near Sha’er oilfield as well as al-Sukhnah in Eastern Homs which resulted in the destruction of the terrorists’ military bases and armored vehicles, killing a large number of militants,” a military source said.

The source noted that ISIL’s gathering centers were also destroyed in Western Salam village in the Eastern part of Homs province, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.

In the Northern part of Homs, the army hit hard the terrorist’ military positions in Talbishe, Ezzedin, al-Mokarama and al-Aliseh regions.

Meantime, the Ahrar al-Sham and Fatah al-Sham Front (the newly-formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) terrorists sustained heavy losses in the army’s offensives on their military positions in al-Rastan, al-Zafaraneh and al-Farhanieh regions.

Syrian Army soldiers repelled ISIL’s attacks on their positions in the oil-rich region in Eastern Homs after fierce clashes on Monday.

On Monday, the ISIL’s attacks from two directions on government positions in Jazal oilfield in Homs province failed, and ISIL suffered a heavy death toll in its unsuccessful attacks.

Russian fighter jets played a crucial role in repelling ISIL’s attacks in Jazal.

In the meantime, Russian and Syrian fighter jets, in a joint attack, pounded ISIL’s centers in the village of al-Shandakhiyat and Jubb al-Jarrah in Eastern Homs.

Syrian Air Force’s bombardments also destroyed a number of ISIL positions and vehicles in the Eastern side of Tadmur, al-Sukhnah and al-Sha’er oilfield.

Meantime on Sunday, Syrian Army soldiers, backed up by the Russian military helicopters, repelled ISIL’s attacks on the government positions near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur).
