Syrian Army continues East Aleppo offensive, seizes key mountain- Map

The Syrian government forces resumed the push in eastern Aleppo countryside and recaptured more territories from the Islamic State.

Today, the Syrian Army successfully managed to impose full control over three new villages along with the strategic Salma Mountain, thus securing Rasm Al-Ahmar village which has become within the Army’s firing range.

The new advance puts the government troops some 7 km to Al-Khafseh town, and 6 km from the imperative Water Pumping Station; currently under ISIS control.

By controlling the Pumping Station, the terror group has cut the water supplies from the northern city of Aleppo, raising a humanitarian crisis in the recently liberated city.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Army inches closer to the Al-Jarrah Airbase; which has been under rebel control since 2013.
