MAP: Syrian Army liberates more territory in east Aleppo, Al-Raqqa within sight

The Syrian Army (SA) liberated more territory in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, Monday, pushing their way to the strategic Sugar Factory and nearby town of Ras Al-‘Ayn.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army liberated several sites north of the Sugar Factory, putting them in position to strike this facility that is located just 7km north of the Islamic State’s last stronghold in east Aleppo.

According to a military source in Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces are currently attacking the Sugar Factory and Ras Al-‘Ayn, while the Russian Air Force bombards the Islamic State’s positions in the key town of Maskanah.

In addition to their advance, the Syrian Arab Army has killed an estimated 200 Islamic State militants and destroyed at least 30 armored vehicles since relaunching their east Aleppo offensive earlier this month, the military source claimed.

The source added that the Syrian Arab Army is expected to reach the town of Maskanah within a week; once they accomplish this, they will be at the fringes of the Al-Raqqa Governorate’s southwestern axis.
