Iran condemns hostage-taking in Algeria
The Spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Ramin Mehmanparast, has strongly condemned the hostage taking in Algeria and has offered the sympathy of the Iranian nation and government with the families of killed hostages, and the government and people of Algeria.

According to Mehr news agency, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said that these inhuman operations fuel insecurity and instability in North Africa. He added that severance of trans-regional collaboration with terrorists and efforts to wipe out the unwanted phenomenon of terrorism are necessary.
He noted that hostage-taking and terrorist operations don’t lead to materialization of demands of hardliner groups, while pointing out that the international assemblies and regional organizations should prevent the exacerbation of terrorism via joint cooperation.
During the operations of the Algerian security forces to rescue the lives of more than a hundred foreign employees and a few hundred Algerians who were taken hostage by gunmen in gas installations, dozens of the hostages and kidnappers were killed.
