Terrorist Attacks kill six in Iraq, including provincial elections hopeful

2952780c36b927d43c7169956b17eab6_LAt least six Iraqi people, including a candidate in the upcoming provincial elections, have been killed in a string of terrorist attacks in the country.

According to Press TV, Police officials said unidentified gunmen attacked two military posts in the northern city of Mosul, situated 360 kilometers (225 miles) northwest of the capital Baghdad, on Sunday, killing a total of five soldiers and wounding three others.
In Baghdad, assailants shot dead Salah Khabat, a candidate in provincial council elections, in a drive-by shooting.
Last week, Iraq marked the 10th anniversary of the US-led invasion of the country as it continues to grapple with escalating violence.
On March 20, two people were killed and four others wounded in a car bomb explosion in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
A day earlier, a wave of attacks in mainly Shia-populated neighborhoods of Baghdad killed at least 65 people and injured over 200 others.
