Egypt clashes leave one protester dead

Clashes have erupted between supporters of ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and security forces, leaving one pro-Morsi protester dead and nine others injured in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

According to IRIB quoting a security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the Monday clashes broke out after security forces opened fire on several supporters of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood who blocked the international road in Bea’r el-Aabd district in northern part of the peninsula.
The injured included a 60-year-old man and a child, the source added.
Tensions have escalated in Egypt since Morsi was deposed by the military on July 3. The army also suspended the constitution and dissolved the parliament.
On July 5, Brotherhood supreme leader, Mohamed Badie, said the move against Morsi was illegal and millions would remain on the streets until the reinstatement of the ousted president.
About 1,000 people were killed in a week of clashes between Morsi supporters and security forces after police dispersed their protest camps in a fatal crackdown on August 14.
