The Syrian Army troops and their popular allies stormed the ISIL concentration centers along the main highway of Hama province to Raqqa and seized back one more key height in a several-hour battle.

The Syrian soldiers, pro-government Palestinian militia “Liwa al-Quds” (Desert Hawks Brigade), Liwa Suqour al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and Fouj al-Joulan (Golani Regiment) pushed the ISIL back from the strategic hilltop of Tal al-Alam after advancing along the Salamiyah-Raqqa Highway.

With Tal al-Alam under their control, the Syrian army and allies are now within 4 km of the important desert-village of Marina.

In addition to their advance along the Salamiyah-Raqqa Highway, the Syrian Armed Forces also captured more hilltops near the village of Zakiyeh; this aforementioned site in the Raqqa province is the primary target for the government forces in this vast desert area.

On Sunday, sources said that the Syrian government forces established control over strategic heights in Raqqa province, a stronghold of the ISIL terrorist group.

“The Syrian army is advancing to the West of the Raqqa province. After heavy fighting against ISIL terrorists, strategic heights have been taken under control,” the sources said.

The Syrian government forces and popular units continued to advance on the terrorists’ positions in the Northeastern part of Hama province securing a long chunk of Salamiyah-Raqqa highway.
