The Leader of Islamic Ummah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei Grants Amnesty

On the auspicious occasion of birthday of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Himand His Houshold), The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei granted amnesty or commuted prison terms of 1,298 inmates.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei’s decision came in response to a letter from Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani asking for clemency and reduction of the prisoners jail terms. Larijani made the proposal after a special commission monitoring behavior of the inmates at prisons endorsed they are qualified for the amnesty.
