The Hamas Movement said that the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces arrested during the last three days 10 Palestinian citizens, mostly ex-detainees, in the context of its security cooperation with the Israeli occupation state and persisted in detaining others illegally.

According to a statement released by Hamas, the PA security forces in Tulkarem arrested a young man called Fares al-Khatib after storming Qaffin town in Tulkarem and raided the house of Omar Dawoud, an ex-detainee and a member of the Islamic Jihad Movement, before kidnapping him.

In Nablus, preventive security elements arrested an ex-detainee called Alaa Shawli, from Asira ash-Shamaliya town, and confiscated a computer and security camera recordings from his brother’s company.

The same security apparatus kidnapped another ex-detainee identified as Bilal Yamin in Tell town, southwest of Nablus.

In Qalqilya, preventive security forces kidnapped a teacher from outside Jit School, where he works. He was identified as Bassam Eid.

Hamas also stated that the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped two ex-detainees called Ibrahim Zaid and Maisara Afana from their homes in the West Bank a few days after their release from PA jails.

Other four ex-detainees were kidnapped by PA security forces in Tubas, Jenin and Salfit. They are Lout Bisharat, Mohamed al-Zaghel, Ramzi Mar’ie and Abdul-Rahim Zeitawi.

In Ramallah, the preventive security apparatus detained teacher Nouh Harish, from Beitunia town, after summoning him for interrogation. He suffers from several health problems, according to the statement.

In a related context, two detainees have been on hunger strike for about three days in protest at their illegal detention by the PA security apparatuses.

They are Najeeb Mafarja, an ex-detainee in Israeli jails, and Osamah Shahin, director of the Palestinian Prisoner Center for Studies.

According to Hamas, the PA prosecution bureau in al-Khalil extended the detention of Osama Shahin for 48 hours.
