Turkey the key supporter of Takfiri terrorists pressing for Syria conference: Davutoglu

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu says Ankara is pressing for the long-awaited Geneva conference on the Syria crisis to be held no later than the coming two months.
During a hearing session at the Turkish parliament, Davutoglu stressed that Ankara is making great efforts for the peace conference, known as Geneva II, to be held in December or January at the latest, Turkey’s Today’s Zaman daily reported on Thursday.
The Turkish minister also said his country is in talks with “all sides” to arrange the meeting, which is aimed at finding a political solution to deadly crisis plaguing neighboring Syria. The initiative was proposed by Russia and the United States in May.
The Syrian government has agreed to take part in the conference, but has rejected preconditions or any insistence on the departure of President Bashar al-Assad.
The United Nations says that it is working to hold the conference before the end of this year. However, Syria’s foreign-backed opposition, the so-called Syrian National Coalition (SNC), says it will attend the talks only after seeing more aid and the release of more political prisoners.
During the Turkish parliament talks, the country’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) further accused the government of isolating Turkey due to its policies practiced in neighboring Syria. Davutoglu rejected the allegations.
The CHP members also voiced their protest over Ankara’s failure in the policy of “zero problems with neighbors.”
Turkey has been a key supporter of Takfiri terrorists fighting against the Syrian government since the beginning of foreign-sponsored unrest in the Arab country.
On November 4, Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad said Ankara plays a destructive role in Syria by allowing terrorists from 83 countries to enter the country and commit crimes.
