Islamic Iran students voice solidarity with Bahrain, Palestine

Students and staff from the University students union and the Association of the Islamic seminary will be fasting on Monday April, 23, as it has been named the day of expressing solidarity with captives who are on hunger strike.

They will also be gathering in front of the United Nations office in Tehran. These associations have requested everyone to keep a political fast and gather in front of the office of the United Nation against their silence on this issue. It is to be said that on this day many people from different cities around the world will be demonstrating too. The statement released from these organizations is as follows:

The oppressive and unjust rulers, whether in the name of Islam or otherwise, do not have what it takes to stand up against the strong humanitarian desires (of the people). Maybe it is written by God that when (want of) full stomachs and the worship of lust is turned into the want for humanitarian values, men and women who are strong will come to the field, not for their own freedoms, but to be a hand in achieving the freedoms for humanity. We congratulate such steadfast determination that has brought disbelief and hypocrisy to its knees.

Khadar Adnan, the resistor who did not touch food for 67 days in the prison of Zionist regime convoyed the spirit of resistance to lioness Hina Shalbi and resulted in tens of days of her hunger strike.
