Turkish Government wants to deploy Patriot missile in Syria border despite strong opposition of nationals

Turkey is discussing with its allies, including the US, deploying Patriot missiles to protect a zone inside Syria.

An anonymous Foreign Ministry official said the move is one of several scenarios Ankara believes could help the Syrian opposition.

The talks are likely to resume now that US elections are over.

Earlier, Ankara sent a request to NATO to deploy a Patriot missile defense system in its territory in case of “receiving more attacks from Syria.”
