Turkish police clash with anti-government protesters

7a9c1e10e2238f63fa1d3748a777a29e_LTurkish riot police have clashed with a group of student demonstrators who were protesting against the government of Erdogan in the capital Ankara.

On Tuesday, police used teargas and water cannon to disperse the protesters who assembled in front of the main gate of the Middle East Technical University ahead of the opening of a highway in the capital.
The demonstrators chanted slogans against the Turkish premier and called on his government to resign.
The students and residents have been protesting at the plan under which a road is set to be constructed across the university campus.

The leaked phone conversations, which were posted on YouTube, revealed Erdogan asking his son Bilal to turn millions of euros in cash stashed at several houses into “zero”.
Bilal at one point can be heard saying, “There is 30 million euros ($41 million) more.”
