Islamic Jihad leader lauds Iran’s role against colonialist plots

A Palestinian top political figure on Monday underlined Iran’s regional clout, and added that Tehran plays a major role in stopping colonialist plots in the region.

“Iran is the greatest obstacle to the implementation of the US-Zionist plots in the region,” Sheikh Salah Hasnain, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement leader, told FNA in Gaza.

He pointed to Tehran’s focus on the Palestinian issue since the onset of the Islamic revolution in Iran, and stated, “Nobody can deny Iran’s role in supporting resistance against the Zionist occupiers both in Palestine and Lebanon.”

Hasnain further stressed that Iran’s insistence on its right to access nuclear energy and Tehran’s support for the Palestinians’ resistance as well as Iran’s resistance against the US-Zionist plots in the region are the root cause of the current international pressures on Iran.

Iran has always reiterated its strong support for the Palestinian people to right of defense and right of return to their homeland.

Supreme Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Seyed Ali Khamenei in his Eid al-Fitr (Fast Breaking Festival) congregational prayers sermon underlined the importance of the Palestinian issue for the world Muslims.

“Palestine is the number one issue of the Islamic World. The so-called peace conference aims to cover up Zionist regime’s crimes,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei described Palestinians as “a strong nation” that stands pressures, and added that pressures cannot force the resistant nation to withdraw.

The Supreme Leader said that the Palestinian nation has become stronger and more powerful than 20 to 30 years ago, and added, “Palestinians can cut the hands of the aggressor and put an end to the Zionist regime’s presence in the region.”
