Two more British students arrested

British police arrested two more of the students who had protested against the tuition fee rise, while trying to get into Buckingham Palace, Scotland Yard has said.

The students, holding political banners, tried to walk through the guards of Queen Elizabeth II’s residence but faced the police’s violation that resulted in two of them being arrested.

Metropolitan Police spokesperson has said that the arrested men, Matthew Belli, 26, and Laurence Flanders, 20, are to attend a central London court “charged under Section 128 of the Serious and Organised Crime Police Act”.

Section 128 of the Serious and Organised Crime Police Act covers protection of the royal family, governmental and parliamentary sites. The offender would be imprisoned for up to six months in additional to a fine.

There have been many arrests after students’ demonstrations against coalition government plan to rise tuition fees and cut academic budget last month. The cuts have brought harsh austerity measures to the country, of which attacking the car carrying Prince Charles and his wife could be of importance.
