The extremist rebels of Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) have had a horrible week thus far, losing several sites along their primary supply route from the small village of Mayda’ in the East Ghouta (collection of farms in rural Damascus).

Just 24 hours after cutting off the rebel supply route from Tal Sawwan to Tal Kurdi, the Syrian Arab Army’s 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) – seized a number of points along the road from Tal Sawwan to Hawsh Al-Farah, resulting in the obstruction of another supply route.

According to a military source in Greater Damascus, the Syrian Armed Forces have imposed fire control over the Tal Sawwan-Hawsh Al-Farah Road after a violent firefight with Jaysh Al-Islam and Jabhat AL-Nusra. The source added that a total of 11 rebels (7 Jaysh Al-Islam and 4 Jabhat Al-Nusra) were killed during Tuesday’s battle – no SAA were killed; however, 8 were reportedly wounded. Adding to the rebel plight in the East Ghouta, the Syrian Armed Forces are preparing to launch a major military operation at the hilltop of village of Tal Kurdi in order to retake the imperative Industrial District en rout to ‘Adra.
