U.S Axis Bomb Attacks Kill 6 in Iraq

Fresh bomb attacks in Iraq have claimed the lives of at least six people and wounded more than a dozen others, Iraqi officials say.

Four people were killed and sixteen others wounded on Tuesday when three car bombs went off in Iraq’s northern city of Kirkuk.

Two roadside bombs also detonated in a town in the east of Kirkuk, killing two Iraqis and injuring one other.

Meanwhile, two Iraqi security forces sustained injuries in six roadside bombs that hit army and police forces in the town of Tuz Khurmatu, police Lieutenant Colonel Khaled al-Bayati said on Tuesday.

No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attacks.

The attacks came a day after the Iraqi government and Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region reached a deal aimed at easing high tensions in disputed areas of northern Iraq.

Baghdad and Kurdistan region are at odds over a number of issues — mainly oil production. The Kurds are determined to maintain their autonomy and develop their own oil resources.
