Iran FM singles out inappropriate cases on NY visit

b25701926ab4fac90e76b61f1053e200_LIran’s Foreign Minister considers the phone talks between the US and Iranian presidents among one cases underlined by the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei as inappropriate, while commenting on President Hassan Rohani’s visit to New York.

According to Tasnim, addressing the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Zarif briefed the committee members on the recent visit of the Iranian team to attend the 68th session of the UN General Assembly in New York and said as it seems the phone talks held between Rohani and his US counterpart may manifest an inappropriate development of the visit.
He said it was better to wait and see good-intention and principled steps by the Americans and then enter into direct talk on phone.
Zarif also referred to somewhat prolongation of his talks with the US Secretary of State John Kerry as another example of inappropriate happenings in the US.
Speaking at a Saturday ceremony in Tehran, the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said, “We support the government’s diplomatic drive, including the New York trip, because we trust the administration, which is dedicated to serving the people, and we are optimistic about it.”
The Leader added, “However, some of the things that happened during the New York trip were not appropriate, because we believe the US government is untrustworthy, arrogant and irrational, and one that reneges on its promises.”
