UN Secretary-General Guterres opted not to issue a formal condemnation of the recent Israeli strikes on Beirut
United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, along with his spokesperson, have characterized the latest Israeli strikes on Lebanon as extremely perilous. However, they stopped short of issuing a condemnation for these actions.

According to Al Jazeera, Guterres reacted to Friday’s Israeli attacks on Lebanon and southern Beirut by urging the international community to provide support to the Lebanese government and military in order to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity.
Guterres, without explicitly denouncing Israel’s recurrent strikes on Lebanon, underscored his unwavering calls for Israel to vacate the Lebanese territories it continues to hold and to uphold the nation’s territorial integrity.
The term “occupation” was notably absent in reference to Israel’s military presence in regions of Lebanon.
Stephane Dujarric, the spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General, described the Israeli strikes as “very dangerous,” refraining from issuing a formal condemnation of the actions.
