Pro-Saudi terrorists suffer heavy casualties in a Houthi ambush in western Yemen

A large contingent of Saudi-backed terrorists was ambushed after entering a huge minefield near Mocha port in Taiz province, on the western coast of Yemen.

Speaking to Al-Masdar News, military sources explained that a paramilitary group led by Jouabel Al-Barakany entered the minefield under observation by a Yemeni Army special unit and allied Yemeni Hezballah Houthi fighters. Once the militants were deep enough, Yemeni military had blown up the mines.

According to the sources, the entire militant faction was neutralized as a result, with 50 fighters killed and wounded, including Salim Bahaj (a tactician), Mohammad Al Shallin (responsible for military operations), Abdul Khaleq Jowhar and Mohammad Najib (both – field commanders).

The operation also resulted in destruction of a number of military vehicles. Meanwhile, wounded militants were stranded in the middle of the minefield. According to military sources, evacuation of the survivors required participation of Saudi military sappers.

Yemeni factions loyal to Saudi-led coalition have already acknowledged that Houthis utilize naval mines, which were used in the Red Sea, to build minefields in different areas of western coast of Yemen.
