Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh said on Sunday that an Iranian automaker will start activities in Oman in the near future.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Omani ministers of foreign affairs and commerce and industry.
Nematzadeh said that Iran is also ready to cooperate with Oman in different industries, including steel mills and petrochemical industries.
Oman has always stood by Iran during tough times and relations between the two governments are strategic and friendly, the Iranian minister said.
Underlining the significance of joint venture investments in railway, sea and air transport, and oil and gas projects, Nematzadeh said that Iran is eager to double cooperation with Oman.
In order to be able to broaden economic relations, the two countries have to expand banking relations at the earliest, the minister said.
He thanked the Omani government for easing visa requirements for Iranian merchants, expressing hope that both Tehran and Muscat will cancel visa for merchants and entrepreneurs of the two countries.
