Israeli soldiers suppress demonstration in Al Khalil

Israeli occupation forces suppressed on Saturday afternoon 06/12/2010, an anti-settlement demonstration in Beit Ommar, north of Al Khalil in the West Bank; they detained two demonstrators, and took them to an unknown destination.

Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the Israeli occupation forces detained the disabled Fadi Said Sabarneh (23 years) and the Chile activist (22 years) after attacking on beating them.

According to our correspondent, the occupation forces tried to prevent demonstrators from reaching the barbed wire of “Karmi Tsur” settlement, and had physically attacked the demonstrators; the soldiers also used stun grenades and gas wounding several demonstrators and residents of nearby houses.

In another context, number of settlers from the settlement of ‘maon’, built on confiscated land southeast of the town of Yatta south of Al Khalil, attacked one of the families in the village of “Al Twani” and assaulted the family members including children and women, before the villagers forced them to leave.
