Car bomb kills four civilians in E Iraq

At least four civilians have been killed and 10 others injured in a car bombing in the eastern Iraqi province of Diyala.

According to the Aswat al-Iraq news agency On Tuesday, security sources, speaking on condition of anonymity said an explosives-laden car detonated near a market southwest of the provincial capital Baquba, located some 50 kilometers (31 miles) northeast of Baghdad.
The incident took place three days after provincial governor Omar al-Humairi was injured in an assassination attempt in the city.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Humairi, a member of the Iraqi Islamic Party, took office in September 2012.
Violence has increased in Iraq since December 2011, when an arrest warrant was issued for fugitive Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi, who has been charged with running a death squad targeting Iraqi officials and Shia Muslims to deceive people that the act was done by Ahlul Sunnah.
The government has stepped up efforts to boost security across the country over the past few months.

Security forces revealed that several regional states, including Qatar, Turkey, S. Arabia have paid $100 to each participant in this week’s protest rallies in al-Anbar in support of Iraqi Finance Minister Rafia al-Issawi, whose bodyguards have been arrested on terrorism charges last month. Al-Nakhil news agency informed Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz and Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani have provided Hashemi with extensive backup to fuel ethnic clashes in Iraq.
Meantime, Iraq’s Al-Nakhil news agency quoted informed sources as saying today that Turkey has also provided Hashemi with a $4mln budget to stir unrests in Iraq’s Western province of Anbar.
The sources noted that Saudi Arabia and Qatar have earmarked huge budgets for fueling ethnic strife in Anbar and Nineveh provinces.
