Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei expounds ‘requirements for active presence in cyberspace’

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has highlighted the ‘requirements for active presence in cyberspace’ and production of ‘Islamic, solid and attractive’ content.

Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei received President Hassan Rouhani and members of Supreme Council of Cyberspace (SCC) on Monday, where he expounded the requirements for active presence in cyberspace.

He also described the Council as a ‘major center for responsible, well-aware, and authoritative policy making on cyberspace.’

Imam Khamenei pointed to ever-increasing and highly rapid phenomenon of cyberspace; “accurate, well-devised, and consistent policies should grab the opportunity to use capabilities and young talents of the country in moving toward a way out of apathy in cyberspace in preference of a more active and influential presence,” Leader told the meeting.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the ‘huge impact’ of cyberspace as having immense power on different fields of culture, politics, economics, lifestyle, piety, religious beliefs, and ethics, emphasizing upon the necessity of designing of a ‘properly accurate plan’ in an attempt to protect society’s intellectual and ethical grounds; “focus in decision building, seriousness in execution, consistency among government bodies engaged, and a general avoidance of parallel and conflicting practices.’

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei also emphasized upon government’s plans and support, especially by presidential deputy for science and technology, to promote industries relevant to communication technologies; “development of this industry through knowledge-based companies is highly effective in creating jobs and revolutionizing country’s economy,” Leader added.

Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei voiced gratitude for good offices of the president and previous members of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace and its past and present secretaries.
