US initiated airstrikes on Yemen, marking a new phase of aggressive military activity

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that American military aircraft have carried out airstrikes on two locations in Yemen. This action was taken in retaliation to the Yemeni operations targeting Israel, CENTCOM reported.

In an announcement on Wednesday, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported the execution of “multiple precision strikes” on two subterranean arsenals linked to Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement. The statement did not disclose the precise locations of these targeted strikes.

The report alleged that the specified “underground Advanced Conventional Weapon (ACW) storage facilities” had been employed in operations against US Navy warships and commercial vessels in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Reports regarding the extent of the damage and any potential casualties remain unavailable at this time.

Forces associated with Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah resistance movement have launched attacks on Israeli assets located within the occupied territories. Additionally, they have targeted Israeli ships and vessels either sailing to or departing from ports under Israeli occupation. These incidents have occurred in strategic maritime regions, including the southern Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea.

The people of Yemen have publicly expressed their solidarity with Palestine in its conflict against Israeli occupation following the initiation of military actions in Gaza by Israel on October 7, 2023. This escalation came in response to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a coordinated effort by Palestinian resistance groups, including Hamas, against Israeli forces.

Yemen’s military capabilities, featuring long-range ballistic and cruise missiles alongside drones with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers, have been prominently demonstrated in recent months.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their intent to persist with their offensive operations until Israel ceases its ground and air military actions in Gaza.

In a move described as supporting Israel’s current military operations, the United States and United Kingdom have conducted airstrikes in Yemen, aiming to curb pro-Palestinian activities in the region.

Yemeni forces have shown resilience amidst prolonged and intense bombardment, persisting in their efforts to target ships associated with Israel in regional waters. In response to these aerial assaults, Yemen has launched retaliatory strikes against Western military installations positioned along its coastline.
