Israel creates false scenario of fear against Iran

Israel constantly resorts to a propaganda campaign aimed at spreading false information about Iran’s nuclear energy program, a political analyst tells Press TV.

“They (Israel) continually put out false information in order to continue to use linguistics for their audience both in Israel and United States to create a false scenario of fear, doubt and uncertainty and continue the propaganda against the Iranian government and also the Iranian nuclear initiatives,” said Scott Rickard in a Wednesday interview.

The comments came after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) dismissed Israeli and Western media reports claiming there had been an explosion at the Fordow uranium enrichment facility and stated that it had seen no sign of such an event at the Iranian nuclear site.

The Fordow nuclear facility, which is the second uranium enrichment plant that Iran established, is located in Qom Province, 160 kilometers (100 miles) south of Tehran.

Rickard lashed out at Western media for imposing a news blackout on the IAEA announcement, saying the news gag is aimed at “downplaying” the measure by the UN nuclear agency.

The United States, Israel, and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran rejects the allegations, arguing that as a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the IAEA, it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
