The Turkish police have fired tear gas and used water cannons to disperse thousands of anti-government demonstrators in the capital Ankara.

According to AFP, on Sunday night, at least two people were injured in the clashes between the protesters and the police in downtown Kizilay square in Ankara.
Meanwhile, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed thousands of pro-government demonstrators elsewhere in the capital, demanding an end to the 10-day anti-government protests.
Erdogan said his patience was running out with the anti-government demonstrations.
Earlier in the day, tens of thousands of protesters also held demonstrations against the government in Istanbul and the western city of Izmir.
Late on Saturday, tens of thousands of Turkish protesters poured into the streets in Istanbul Ankara and Izmir.
The unrest was triggered by the police violence against an environmental protest in Istanbul’s Taksim Square on May 31.
The protests soon spread to dozens of cities across cities across Turkey and solidified into calls for Erdogan’s resignation.
