Video: Fighting continues to intensify against ISIS in Mosul

The Iraqi Armed Forces continued fighting against forces of the so-called Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Mosul on Tuesday, as the battle for Mosul continued.

As Iraqi forces fought in several regions west of the city, about 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) from the historical al-Nuri mosque, IS retaliated by firing three rockets using Katyusha rocket launchers.

This left one Iraqi soldier dead and two injured.

The military operation to capture Mosul began on October 17. IS captured Mosul in 2014 and the offensive is now fronted by the Iraqi army, Kurdish and Shia militias, and the US-led anti-IS coalition.
