First El Salvadorian Muslim said in this southern province on Saturday that the publication of Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei’s letter to the western youth has change the global people’s viewpoints toward the Iranian Muslims.

Talking to IRNA, Mustafa El Salvador made the remarks on the sidelines of a gathering for recitation of Holy Quran and analyzing and studying the Supreme Leader’s letter to the western youth.

He said the US is trying to tarnish the image of Islam in several countries, El Salvador in particular, adding the letter has spread a positive image about all Muslims, Iranians in particular.

Commenting on his conversion to Islam, El Salvador said he become familiar with Islam when he was a university student.

‘I consciously converted to Islam after studying several books about different religions and Islamic resources,’ he said.

‘I was the only one that converted to Islam in El Salvador but now the number of Muslim people has increased in my country,’ he added.

In January 2015,Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei sent a letter to the youth in Europe and North America, urging them to study Islam and to get first hand information about it before accepting their governments’ propaganda.

Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei criticized “the Western governments’ insincere and hypocritical treatment” of other nations and cultures and said, “The histories of the United States and Europe are ashamed of slavery, embarrassed by the colonial period and chagrined at the oppression of people of color and non-Christians.”

The Leader said the humiliation and spreading hatred and illusionary fear of the “other” have been the common basis of the so-called superpowers in the West.

“Therefore, don’t miss the opportunity to gain proper, correct and unbiased understanding of Islam so that hopefully, due to your sense of responsibility toward the truth, future generations would write the history of this current interaction between Islam and the West with a clearer conscience and lesser resentment,” Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei concluded.
