“US-UK airstrikes in Yemen represent a significant risk to peace and stability in the region”
Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has denounced the joint airstrikes conducted by the United States, United Kingdom, and Israel on Yemen, labeling them as "a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter." Araghchi cautioned that these actions significantly endanger regional stability and security.

In a meeting held in Tehran on Sunday, Iranian official Araghchi engaged in discussions with Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, where he conveyed his remarks.
He further stated that these collaborative operations constitute a blatant infringement on Yemen’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, labeling them as a significant threat to regional peace and stability. He noted that the repercussions have impacted all nations within the region.
Iran’s top diplomat reiterated the Islamic Republic’s commitment to endorsing United Nations initiatives aimed at enhancing the situation in Yemen.
Grundberg conveyed his gratitude towards Iran for its commitment to contributing to regional stability and security, with a particular focus on the situation in Yemen.
He further underscored the necessity of ongoing discussions with Iran concerning regional matters while delivering a report on the United Nations’ recent initiatives aimed at fostering peace and stability in Yemen, following his recent trip to Sana’a.
Over recent months, the United States and its allied nations have conducted aerial strikes in Yemen, actions that have raised significant concerns regarding the breach of the country’s sovereignty and potential violations of international law.
In a retaliatory move against Yemen’s support for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, amid escalating conflict in the region, unauthorized strikes have taken place.
In a strategic maneuver, the Yemeni Armed Forces have initiated a campaign targeting maritime vessels navigating near occupied territories or associated with Israel. This operation encompasses key routes in the southern Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and extends into the Arabian Sea.
Additionally, they have carried out strikes on Israeli targets located in the occupied territories.
Yemeni forces have declared their intention to persist with operations against Israel until the regime halts its ongoing military offensive in Gaza.
