Video captured by an eyewitness reveals the moment of a plane crash in Kazakhstan
A passenger aircraft en route from Azerbaijan to Russia tragically crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan on Wednesday, according to Kazakh authorities. The aircraft was carrying 62 passengers and five crew members. Remarkably, 28 individuals have been reported as survivors.

Reuters verified the location by cross-referencing nearby buildings and a distinctive blue stripe on the structure with satellite imagery and archived images.
A corroborating video captures the identical scene, though the date remains unverified by independent sources. Nevertheless, data from FlightRadar24.com indicates that the flight was last tracked near Aktau Airport on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the Central Asian nation’s Ministry of Emergencies, fire services have successfully extinguished the blaze. The statement further noted that the survivors are currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
Azerbaijan Airlines reported that an Embraer 190 aircraft, designated as flight J2-8243, was enroute from Baku to Grozny, the capital of Russia’s Chechen Republic, when it was compelled to execute an emergency landing about 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) away from the Kazakh city of Aktau.
Russian news agencies reported that the aircraft was diverted from its original flight path due to heavy fog conditions in Grozny.
Kazakhstani authorities have initiated an investigation exploring various potential explanations for the incident, including a technical malfunction, as reported by Russia’s Interfax news agency.
