Video- Latin American delegation visits Syria to support Assad

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro and Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez led the delegation of Latin American envoys to Syria.

The ministers held talks with President Bashar Al-Assad and conveyed messages of support from the peoples and governments of ALBA; the Bolivarian Alliance for Latin America and the Caribbean.

In a Press Conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al Moallem, members of the Latin American delegation denounced what they called a “Conspiracy” against the Syrian government and blasted the “expansionist intentions of the US and its allies and their attempts to destabilize Syria”.

The ALBA ministers also called for an end to the ferocious Media campaign against Syria and said their countries will defend the sovereignty of Syria in international Gatherings particularly at the UN.

Meanwhile, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Moallem vowed tough measures against countries which will recognize the new umbrella council formed by the opposition in Istanbul on October 3rd. Taking a question on Syria’s troubled relationship with neighboring Turkey, Al-Moallem said his country will not remain idle in the face of any provocation.

Regarding the latest assassination of Syrian Opposition figure Meshaal Tammo, Al-Moallem accused armed gangs to be behind the terrorist act and he vowed to find those responsible for “the martyrdom” of the Kurdish leader.

The members of the Latin American delegation did not chew their words in support of Syria, they spoke of an “imperialist conspiracy but they also laid the blame on Arab Regimes who chose silence via a vis the Syrian Crisis.
