IRGC chief warns of cultural threats

The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the nature of threats against the Islamic Revolution of Iran has changed.

“Last year’s (post-election) sedition lasted for around eight months only, but it was much more dangerous than the (eight-year Iraqi) imposed war”, said Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari.

He said the seditious moves were aimed at diverting the Islamic Revolution from its right path and slowing the momentum that the Islamic Republic had gained.

The top general said the IRGC has a duty to confront hard, security, intelligence, political and cultural threats, adding special training is required to tackle cultural threats.
