Syrian Army breaks into ISIL’s southern Damascus bastion: map

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their Palestinian allies have scored several advances in the past days, liberating a number of areas that were previously under the control of the Islamic State (ISIS).

Led by the 9th Division’s shock troops (Al-Fandi Group) and 105th Brigade (Republican Guard), the Syrian Arab Army broke through the Islamic State’s lines, yesterday, liberating all of the farms in western Hajar Al-Aswad and the Al-Alaf area.

Following yesterday’s advance, the Syrian Arab Army and their Palestinian allies were able to push further into the Islamic State’s bastion, despite heavy resistance from the latter’s terrorists.

Intense clashes are still ongoing at the moment, with the Syrian Arab Army and their Palestinian allies still on the offensive.

Meanwhile, at the Yarmouk Camp, the Syrian Army has fully taken over the rebel-held areas of the district, given them access to the Islamic State’s lines in the northern corridor of this area.
