Sheikh Bakirat: We should revive the culture of resistance

Sheikh Najeh Bakirat, director of the Aqsa Mosque and its manuscript department, said that the resistance option is the only effective means to defend Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.

“We have to revive the culture of resistance and not give up defending the Aqsa Mosque and the holy shrines because the enemy, in its fight with us, will not give us any weight if we are not strong, so I believe that we must pursue the resistance path and not the negotiation path,” Sheikh Bakirat told the Palestinian information center (PIC) on Monday on the sidelines of a symposium on Jerusalem.

“The negotiation path has led us to a very great loss, and only the resistance, I believe, would force the enemy to understand that there are a living people and their cause is not moribund,” director of the Mosque added.

“The [Israeli] measures at the Aqsa Mosque are extremely grave, and the changes happening there are going fast and snowballing, so if we did not stop this bleeding, the Aqsa Mosque will be slipping from our hands,” he warned.
