Abu Marzouk: Iran-Hamas ties never severed

Relations between Hamas and Iran were never severed, prominent member of Palestinian Hamas Movement’s Politburo Abu Marzouk said here Monday. A national news agency in his Monday interview with Abu Marzouk asked the Palestinian party official on relations with Iran, taking Hamas name out of the EU terrorist organizations list, reconstruction of Gaza and the inhumane attacks of the racist Zionist regime.

“Hamas delegations have always visited Iran and our movement has never severed its ties with Iran,” he said.He referred to Iran’s continuous support for the Palestinian ideals, arguing that Iran has always unlimitedly supported the Palestinian nation and their need to restore their denied rights.

On deleting Hamas’ name from the terrorist organizations’ list of the EU, he reiterated that although the move was correction of Europe’s wrong approach and the EU had by including Hamas name in its terrorists’ list given a green light to Israel in massacre of the Palestinians and destroying of Gaza, but the move is all the same welcome.

“The US, too, should follow the European model and delete Hamas from its terrorist organizations’ list” he added.On reconstruction of Gaza, too, he said that only a very limited number of the Palestinians’ homes have been reconstructed so far, adding that Mahmoud Abbas considers Gaza as a heavy burden on his shoulders.

He also referred to an agreement reached last year between Hamas and Mahmoud Abbas to establish a national consensus government comprised of all Palestinian groups and hold elections six months after that.“Unfortunately, the Palestinian Self-Ruled administration does not act according to its commitments,” he added.
