WATCH| Turkish worker set himself on fire for his financial difficulties

39 years old S.A. came in front of State Assembly Hospital, 50 meters away from Dikmen entrance of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and said he was going to set himself on fire for his financial difficulties.

After pouring gasoline to his head, S.A who is learned to be a construction worker, flicked the lighter. TBMM police intervened and extinguished the fire on worker’s clothes.

With a burn identified on the left side of his head, S.A was moved to Ankara Numune Hospital in an ambulance.

According to offical figures in 2015, there are over 14 million people living under hunger line, 44 million people living under powerty line in Turkey.
