Reports that Houthis have taken Midi Port from pro-Hadi forces

Yemeni media are reporting that Houthi forces have began an offensive in northern Hajjah Province on the Red Sea coast which is controlled by pro-Hadi forces.

The offensive was focused on the port of Midi. Although the town of Midi was not captured, the control of the Red Sea port will allow a new route for aid and supplies to Houthi forces.

Yemeni sources have claimed that Saudi jets have struck with at least 15 airstrikes to slow the progress being made.

This rare pocket of pro-Hadi forces in northern Yemen would be a huge blow to their war efforts against Houthi forces.

This is still to be confirmed by official forces.
