kathemAl-Wefaq National Islamic Society Shura Chairman, Jamil kathem said that “the Bahraini authority’s violation of the house of Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem came after its failure in undermining his morale.”

In a statement to Al-Manar website, Sheikh Kathem stressed that “the Bahraini regime has been trying to undermine the morale of Sheikh Qassem since over ten years, but has failed in that, and here it is today pointing the guns of its mercenaries at his house.”

Al-Wefaq Shura Chairman added that the Bahraini regime’s stance from Ayatollah Qassem is due to his basic role in the struggle, indicating that “his eminence spent over 40 years in national and religious struggle, and raised thousands of elements and activists.”

“He is the major pillar in the opposition’s political project for building a state of organizations, laws, justice, freedom, and dignity, and he is a strong opposer to oppression, torture, and the dictatorship rule in Bahrain,” he added, pointing out that Sheikh Qassem “is a guarantee for security, stability, societal coexistence, and for preserving a peaceful method in claiming rights.”

In conclusion, Sheikh Kathem said that “Sheikh Qassem is a nation’s project and a people’s conscience that can never be targeted.”
